About

Teresa Gerhard is the founder of Wunderbar Learning. She was born in Germany, in the Ruhr Area (North Rhine-Westphalia) and moved to London in 2006. What was thought to be an intermediate stop in her career turned out to be a lifetime experience.
She got to know her husband Dave and they settled in Hackney six years ago. Baby Matilda joined the family in 2016.

Teresa studied Economics in Germany (Trier). She started learning English at school from the age of 11. She had a chance spending half a school year abroad and decided to do her AS-levels in Tonbridge, Kent. It was then that she decided she wanted to return to the UK for work.

After university she travelled to Argentina to learn Spanish. She undertook an internship in Cordoba, Argentina where she fell in love with the South American way of life. Work called her back to Europe and in 2006 she started working in London.

After the birth of Matilda, her daughter, she decided to leave the hustling life as a Commercial Manager to start her own business. She wanted to share the privilege of growing up bilingually with as many other young learners as possible; and so Wunderbar Learning was born.

Teresa’s lesson plan follows the early years foundation stage’s (EYFS) standards and has been carefully designed to open young learners’ perspective of modern language.
